1 Kings 21 and Jesus Christ: Naboth's Vineyard, False Witnesses, and the Righteous King We Truly Need Introduction Some chapters make us angry because they reveal how easily power can corrupt the human heart. 1 Kings 21 is one of those chapters. A faithful man loses everything simply because he refuses to compromise God's command. A wicked queen manipulates the legal system. A king values property more than righteousness. Yet above all the injustice, God is watching. At first glance, this chapter appears to be about stolen land. But beneath the surface is a much greater story. It reveals humanity's sinful desire to take what belongs to another, Satan's use of lies to destroy the innocent, and God's unwavering promise that evil will never have the final word.
