2 Samuel
2 Samuel Hub
The book of 2 Samuel records the rise and reign of King David over Israel, revealing both the greatness of God's chosen king and the consequences of sin. David unites the kingdom, establishes Jerusalem as Israel's capital, and receives God's covenant promise that an eternal King would come from his lineage. Despite his victories and devotion to God, David's sins with Bathsheba and the arranged death of Uriah bring painful judgment upon his family and kingdom. Throughout the book, David's life points forward to Jesus Christ—the greater Son of David—whose kingdom is eternal, whose righteousness is perfect, and who fulfills God's promise of a King who will reign forever.11 -
